I wanted to look at existing magazine front cover photographs that target the same market as me: teenage girls. Sugar is one of the most popular magazines that has the target market of teenage girls.
Photograph
The front cover contains a photograph that has Rihanna looking directly at the audience; this is effective because it catches the reader's attention. Rihanna is smiling which reflects the target audience of Sugar magazine - teenage girls. As my magazine has the same target audience as Sugar, the person on the front of my magazine will be smiling.
Mise-en-scene
The colours of Rihanna's clothes and make-up match the colour scheme of the magazine; this is effective because the magazine looks more professional and Rihanna appears to fit into the style of the magazine. Also, the magazine is likely to use a colour scheme that matches it's target market's sense of style. For example, teenage girls are likely to wear the same style of clothes that Rihanna is wearing on the cover.
Position Of Photograph
The photograph of Rihanna is positioned behind the masthead; this is because the magazine isn't confident enough to cover part of the masthead with the photograph. Q magazine has a much bigger target market than Sugar magazine, therefore Q magazine is confident enough to cover part of the masthead with the photograph. My magazine has the same target market as Sugar magazine, therefore i don't feel confident enough to cover part of the masthead on my magazine with my photograph.

Double Page Spread Mock Up
This is the 1st mock up of my double page spread. I have continued to ue my colour scheme and the font 'minipop' on this page. I have used a long pink rectangle at both the top and bottom of the page in order to show that the double page contains the same article. I plan to use a photograph that fills the whole page, and i plan to add text into the circles.
Contents Page Mock Up 3
This is the 3rd draft of my contents page. I decided to put the 'In Every Issue' section nearer to the bottom of the page so that i had more space to place my photos into; the page looks more organised now.

Mock Up Contents Page 2
This is the second draft of my contents page. I decided to split the page into different sections: On The Cover, Features, In Every Issue. I did this as i wanted my contents page to look more organized, and for it to be clearer and easier for young girls to read.

Mock Up Contents Page
This is a mock up of my contents page without photographs. I plan to add a photograph in the large space in the middle of the page. I have continued to use my colour scheme on this page as I have used the same colours as on the front cover. I have also used a variety of fonts on this page, and i have also used the same fonts as used on the front cover. I have included a section at the bottom of the page which would be a weekly feature; it is a short letter from the editor. I have also included some weekly features on my contents page: What's Hot Now, Win Win Win, Exclusive Interview, Posters, Your Letters. At the top right hand corner of the page, i have included a small photograph of the front cover from the same week next to the text: In This Issue.
Front Cover Mock Up
This is a mock up of my front cover without the photograph. I will add a photograph into the space on my front cover. I have continued to use the same colour scheme as i stated in my planning, and i have used a variety of fonts on my front cover, aswell as my main font 'minipop'.

Price Of Magazine
I have decided to price my magazine at £1.50 as my target market is young girls. Young girls will not have a lot of money to spend on magazines as they will use pocket money, therefore i wanted to set a reasonable price. My magazine will have quite a lot of pages, therefore i didn't want to price it too cheap.
